Chocolate Cherry Scone/The Coffee Grounds

My family recently went to The Coffee Grounds for brunch. This, of course, brought the opportunity to try another of their baked goods (I’d wrote about them for the blog back in 2022). Scones sounded particularly good on this occasion, and seeing the varieties written on the chalkboard menu, I saw something I knew I’d like:

A chocolate cherry scone.

I chose a chocolate cherry scone. Ultimately, I decided to save it for breakfast the following morning, and that was a good call. The scone was soft, with just the right amount of tartness, plus chocolate chips and dried cherries scattered about. In a way, you could term it a breakfast bar. Pair it with coffee (remember to buy some from The Coffee Grounds), and you’re in business.

The baking of the scone resulted in a nice triple break.

Speaking of breakfast, I was seriously considering one of their large cinnamon rolls on my visit; you can’t go wrong if you go that route (or any baked good route, really). I guess I’ll just have to go to The Coffee Grounds again and blog about another delicious treat at some point in the future…
