Summer is here, which means the farmers market season is also here! There's something magical about spending Saturday mornings walking around the market and taking in the fresh air, sights and smells. Here are 4 reasons you and your kids should go to the farmers market this year.
1. Introduce Fresh Produce
Fresh produce can convert even the pickiest of eaters. It's more fresh and just tastes better. Plus, you'll have the opportunity to teach produce identification.
2. Allows Kids to Be Social
Farmers markets are very family friendly. We love to meet up with our friends there on Saturday mornings and it gives kids an opportunity to meet new friends as well.
3. Teach Math Skills
What better way to teach counting and currency to your littles than counting money and vegetables? Have them count the amount of produce you need and have them count the money you give the vendor. It's a great way to brush up on math skills.
4. Family Bonding
Spending Saturday mornings at the farmers market is a great way to spend some quality time together. Grab some lunch, walk around the artist market area, get fresh produce and maybe even get a balloon animal. There's so much to see and do!
