Celebrate National French Fry Day Locally
It’s Fry-day! There’s no better day than National French Fry Day to enjoy some local fries. Whether they’re waffle-shaped, cajun-seasoned, or straight and salted, check out these places to get your fry on.
The French Press
One of the best lunch spots in the valley serves up delicious fries – enjoy garlic parmesan, other flavor, or regular. They’re thick-cut straight fries, and they’re good. Enjoy them with an Ugly Burger for the ultimate french fry experience, and dip them into the Ugly sauce for a tasty full-circle moment.
The Good Wives
The Good Wives opened in late 2022 and has been a hit with locals. Their straight-cut fries are freshly made and served with herb aioli. Try them alone, or pair them with their grilled chicken or hanging tender steak.
Wichcraft: Spirits & Sandwiches
Wichcraft is another new restaurant in the Chippewa Valley that opened late 2022, around Halloween. The horror-themed bar and restaurant serves straight-cut Franken Fries with a homemade cheese sauce. Pair them with a potion or a plate a wings and you won’t be disappointed!
The Livery
The Livery opened in 2009 and features an awesome ambiance. They serve up delectable house-made fries with a yummy rosemary ketchup. They have a wide variety of sandwiches and wraps to pair them with, so take your pick!
The Cranky Buzzard
The Cranky Buzzard is slinging house-cut fries, flavored with herbs according to the dish (think dill for example), and pairing them with their amazing dishes. Go for something classic like the Smashburger, or switch it up with Naan Tacos!
The Lakely
Fries at the Lakely are a local staple – always make sure to order some at their Open Mics or Late Night Jazz events. They’re thin cut seasoned fries that go great with any dipping sauce. Enjoy them on their own or with something like a burger, and you can’t go wrong!
Court N’ House
Court N’ House has both crinkle-cut and waffle fries, and they’re both amazing. Pair them with the classic sandwiches they have to offer or maybe even their Friday fish fry, and you’ll be set.
Dooley’s Pub
Dooley’s Pub makes great golden waffle fries, called Pub Fries, that can be served with ranch or cheddar cheese dipping sauce. They’re amazing with their wings or traditional Irish fare, but I can’t help but pair them with the Celtic Knot – a 1 ½ lb. pretzel fit for a king.
The District
The District serves great straight-cut cajun seasoned or regular fries. Enjoy them with the fish fry or with one of their tasty burgers, and maybe throw in one of their 30 tap beers!
Reboot Social
Reboot Social has tons of options for topped fries, including Korean BBQ, cheesy jalapeno, truffle, as well as sweet potato fries and your standard straight-cut fresh fries. They have a variety of dipping sauces. Try your hand at duckpin bowling, pinball games, or go downstairs after you eat and play a variety of arcade games!
