Scotchies/Randy’s Family Restaurant
NEW DESSERT ALERT! If a place in the Chippewa Valley offers a new dessert option, I’m on it. It’s something different, something tasty, and something worth spreading the news. I recently saw a Facebook post from Randy’s Family Restaurant talking about their new Scotchies. Let’s give it a try:
Yeah, it was good. Of course, I would expect as much from Randy’s, a regular destination for me going back to the early 2000s, and place where you gotta get some sort of dessert item on your visit. They had a three-pack of Scotchies at the front counter, so I got mine; these are butterscotch cookies, as you may have surmised, and they are de-lish.
The cookie itself has a buttery flavor, separate from the butterscotch chips; those provide the little sparks throughout. What also helps it stand out — besides being homemade at Randy’s — is the concept: you don’t usually encounter butterscotch cookies. You can find scotcheroos & butterscotch brownies, but these types of cookies do not seem particularly common. Well, you can find them at Randy’s.
I’ll have more desserts to blog from there in the future; in the meantime, get your little plastic bag of Scotchies, and get happy from something new and fresh for your sweet tooth.
