A Guide to Christmas Tree Farms in the 715

Some of us have fond memories of piling in the family truck and bringing it to a local tree farm. We remember the hunt for the perfect tree, the excitement of cutting it down, and the anticipation of sitting in the back of the truck, ready for it to be sitting in the middle of the living room, lit and decorated. Some of us remember sipping warm hot cocoa from the shared thermos in the cupholder. Whether or not you had a good time getting a Christmas tree in the past, don’t miss out this year to make a great memory and embrace the holiday spirit in the most festive way possible: getting the perfect Christmas tree. We’ve rounded up a few of the local tree farms you can visit to complete this great holiday experience.

Chippewa Valley Trees

A great tree farm between Chippewa Falls and Fall Creek is Chippewa Valley Trees, a family-run farm open to the public Saturdays & Sundays, 1-5pm, November 25th-December 10th and Black Friday 10am-6pm. They have Douglas Fir and Fraser Fir trees, as well as other Christmas tree varieties. They let you cut your own tree or you can choose a pre-cut tree. They have staff to help with tree selection, cutting, wrapping and loading your tree, so if you’re a first timer, no worries! You can find Chippewa Valley Trees at 2803 N 130th Ave in Chippewa Falls, on the corner of County Road K and St. Bridget Dr.

Curvue Tree Farm

Meet a staff member when you get to Curvue Tree Farm, so that they can give you a tree tag and a s’more pack. They provide the saw if you’re cutting your own tree, and you’ll ride a wagon ride over to the trees. If you’re looking for a quicker process, they have pre-cut trees that are all ready to go. They accept credit cards as well, so you don’t have to remember to bring cash or a check. Curvue Tree Farm grows Balsam Firs and Fraser Firs on their farm. They also have a gift shop that has lots of gifts made by local artisans.

Bryan’s Trees

Bryan’s Trees is a great spot to grab your own Christmas tree. It can be a choose and cut situation, but no need to bring your own saw. They’re conveniently located in Eau Claire on 70th Street, and also have a location in Black River Falls on County Road F. They are also selling trees in front of Artisan Forge. They’re open 9am-6pm starting November 18th.

Traditional Tree Farm

The family-owned Traditional Tree Farm is celebrating 38 years of creating Christmas moments for families. This year, they have a new sleigh photo opportunity. They open November 24th at 9am. They have both cut-your-own and pre-cut trees, including Balsam and Fraser Firs, as well as White Pine. Grab a hot chocolate or an apple cider and find the perfect tree!

Lowes Creek Tree Farm

Find a Christmas tree of the Fraser, Canaan, Balsam and White Pine varieties at Lowes Creek Tree Farm. They also have a gift shop with unique holiday gifts. They’re located on Lowes Creek Road in Eleva – check their website for hours.

Pleasant Valley Tree Farm

Pleasant Valley Tree Farm has a country store, and sometimes Santa and Mrs. Claus visit! Warm up with some hot chocolate or cider, and enjoy the wagon ride to select the perfect tree. They’ll help with shaking, baling, and loading your tree.
