Christmas Weekend Event Guide
So, the in-laws are coming to stay at your place in the 715 this weekend and you need events to keep them busy. Don’t fret – we’re here to help. There’s plenty of happenings going on in the 715 throughout the days around Christmas, and we’ve compiled them all here so you have a one-stop shop for everything that could occupy the family. Or, if you’re looking for things to do around the holiday weekend, this is a great place to be!
Friday, December 22nd
Wheatfield’s Holiday Markets on the Farm – 11am-4pm, Wheatfield Hill Organics
Wheatfield Hill Organics in Durand is hosting holiday markets on the farm, through the 23rd. This is a great way to get what you need to host, or just a great stop to bring everyone. And, if anyone needs gifts, they’ve got gift sets too. Talk about everything you need in one place!
Tanglemas – 11am-10pm, Tanglewood Greens
If you’re closer to Menomonie, or want to take a drive out there, Tanglewood Greens is hosting an event that includes a kids cookie decorating station, holiday themed specialty cocktails, a themed photo-booth, letters to Santa, and tons of Christmas decor. Merry Tanglemas!
Reindeer Games Escape Room – 4:15-7:45pm, Schlegelmilch House Museum
An escape room is an excellent way to occupy the family in an engaging and bonding way. There’s one near downtown Eau Claire at the Schlegelmilch Museum, a historical house on Farwell St. It works for 2-12 players.
Live Music: Addie & Brianna – 6:30-8:30pm, 2 Roots Gallery
Addie & Brianna, a cello and violin duo, are playing Christmas tunes at 2 Root Gallery in downtown Eau Claire. Enjoy some wine and art while you listen to these beautiful melodies!
Dick Wolf: Special Improv Unit – 6:30pm, Oh Claire Improv
Enjoy a special Christmas edition of a great improv show based on Law and Order at Oh Claire Improv.
DJ SLGD – 7-10pm, The Lakely
Enjoy some DJ tunes including disco, house, and hip-hop at the Lakely by DJ SGLD.
Chris Kroeze – 7:30pm, The Pablo Center
Local legend Chris Kroeze is performing at the Pablo on Friday, and there are still tickets!
Lou Carver and The Wet Stetsons – 9pm, The Plus
Enjoy some old-timey folk and blues music as well as country folk at the Plus, with Lou Carver and The Wet Stetsons.
Saturday, December 23rd
The Messiah Sing – 4-9pm, The Mabel Tainter
If sing-alongs are your thing, check out this free Christmas singalong at the Mabel Tainter in Menomonie with a community gathering to follow.
Live Music: Mélange – 7-9pm, 2 Roots Gallery
Mélange is a trio of friends, including Emily Watkins, Maggie Sills, and Valerie Evans, featuring harmonies and guitar. It’s free and all ages!
The Driftless Revelers & Wyatt Thomson Holiday Vinyl Release – 7-10pm, Fire House
Join The Driftless Revelers in downtown Eau Claire at the Fire House for a yuletide celebration, as well as a celebration of Wyatt Thomson’s vinyl release of Christmas Time (I’m So Lonesome).
Jeremy Boettcher Holiday Extravaganza – 7-10pm, The Lakely
