We finally got some snow! It's starting to feel a little bit more like winter and I don't know about you guys but I hate being cold. It makes me want to just sit inside with a cup of hot cocoa and never leave. What better thing to do than play some board games with the family? Here are our favorite kid friendly games we've played over the last year.
Spot It
This game is so easy any one can play. Plus this game is super portable so you can bring it anywhere. Basically you try to find the matching symbol between your card and the card being played before the other players. It's fast paced and super fun!
Trash Pandas
This game is another portable game that's super fast paced. You're playing as raccoons who are saving things from the trash for points. You roll a dice to determine your next move and collect cards to either stash or use as a disadvantage to the other players. The person with the most of each card wins!
Life
I'm sure we're all familiar with this game. But let me tell you, this game is a great opportunity for your kids to fine tune their math skills. I assign my kiddo to be the banker every game so he has to count money more. Plus, it's fun and enjoyable for the entire family.
Deck Building Games
These games are a little more advance but they are our absolute favorite. We have the Buffy the Vampire slayer version at home but they make them for so many different things. Harry Potter, Resident Evil and Buffy are all the ones I've personally played. In the Buffy version you're playing on a team to defeat the forces of darkness and you count up the point at the end to determine the winner. You start off with a set amount of cards and throughout the game you build your deck to build the best deck possible to give you better abilities and health.
I hope you have a cozy winter winter and that these board games keep you from going crazy being stuck inside.
