Live Music Events This Weekend
The sound of music is in the air, because this weekend there’s a ton of live music events in the 715! We wanted to gather some of these events together so you can check out as much live music as you can. From acoustic to jazz, there’s something for everyone in this list – and it’s all happening this weekend!
Matt Wahl
At River Bend Winery and Distillery, Matt Wahl will be playing live music made up of acoustic guitar, piano, ukulele, and harmonica. It’ll be going on from 1:30-4:30pm on Sunday. Grab a glass of wine and enjoy the music.
Half Shebang & Rock Creek Song Dogs
Vino Cappuccino, a bistro in Elk Mound, hosts live music every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday throughout the summer. This weekend they’ll be hosting Half Shebang on Friday and Rock Creek Song Dogs on Saturday. The music will be going on from 5:30-7:30 on the lawn, weather permitting.
Springfest
Check out Springfest, a festival in Chippewa Falls benefiting charity. It’s all happening at the Northern Wisconsin State Fairgrounds, on Friday and Saturday night. You’ll see Evan Pingel, Nashville’s Own EllieMay & The Nashville North Band, and John Stone & The Trailer Park Allstars on Friday, and Contradiction, Boogie & The YoYoz, and Hairball on Saturday. D. Janakey
The Lakely hosts live music most weekends, and this weekend D. Janakey will be playing Friday night from 7-10pm. Grab a craft cocktail and enjoy D. Janakey’s music, which draws comparisons to John Prine and Paul Simon.
Hannah Harder Septet
2 Roots Gallery also hosts music, and this Friday they’ll be hosting the jazzy Hannah Harder Septet, playing music written by women. It’ll be from 7:30-9:30pm, so grab some wine and enjoy.
Jackson Taylor
Enjoy acoustic country music from the 90s to today from Jackson Taylor at the Red Mixer in Eau Claire, happening this Friday. It’ll start at 7:30pm and run until 10:30.
Mélange & Friends Live
Mélange Trio is a group comprised of Emily Watkins on guitar and vocals, Valerie Evans on vocals, and Maggie Sills on vocals, and they play both original songs and covers. They’ll be adding a rhythm section for this show at the Plus, taking place Friday at 8pm. You can buy tickets here.
Joelton Mayfield, Ben Dunegan & Small Chainsaw
Check out Nashville natives Joelton Mayfield & band, Iowan Ben Dunegan, and La Crosse band Small Chainsaw at the Mousetrap on Friday at 9pm. It’s free and 21+, presented by Farewell Transmission Radio.
Rafe Carlson
Check out some country music at River Bend Winery and Distillery on Saturday from 2-5pm. Rafe Carlson has shared the stage with acts such as Trace Adkins, Jon Pardi, Chris Janson, Jake Owen, and many more.
Jeremy Boettcher Trio
Enjoy some jazz at the Lakely on Saturday from 7-10pm with local jazz legends Jeremy Boettcher, Sean Carey, and Richard Johnson. Grab a cocktail and enjoy some jazz!
The Sixes
Check out the Sixes at River Jams in Chippewa Falls, playing riverside. This’ll be on Saturday from 8-10:30pm. Bring some lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy some music!
Ladybird
Check out alternative country band Ladybird, hailing from Milwaukee, at the Plus on Saturday at 8pm. They have food and drinks available, and it’s sure to be a good time!
The What-Have-Yous w/ Fizz Kizer
The What-Have-Yous, playing folk and honky-tonk, as well as Fizz Kizer, playing adorable doom, will be at the Mousetrap on Saturday for a free 21+ show at 9pm.
