Single Parent Burnout

Single parent burnout is real. Parenting as a team is hard, now take out the extra help and you feel like you're drowning. You don't get breaks. You can't just take a breather and have someone else take over. It can be so physically and mentally draining. Here are my top tips to avoid single parent burnout.

Plan Ahead

Planning ahead can limit surprises. Plan your week out so you know what you're committing to at work and home.

Set Boundaries

Quit saying yes to everything. It's ok to say no sometimes. It's ok to prioritize your mental health and not over commit.

Quality Time

Set aside time to really bond with your kids. Sometimes we just feel like we're on auto pilot and are just doing tasks for our kids to keep them alive.

Make YOU Time

I say this so often but it's so important. It can be as simple as watching a movie YOU want to see, visiting a friend or attending a regular activity in your area. Your well being is so important if you want to keep being a great parent.

Separate Work & Home

Make home time home time and work time work time. You can't constantly be burning the candle from both ends. If you can't focus on one task at a time you will burn out so fast.

Hope these tips help!
