The Real Rocker’s Guide to Rock Fest

It’s time to rock! This year’s Rock Fest is July 18-20 in Cadott, WI. If you’ve never been to Rock Fest before, we’ve got you covered with tips for rookies and real rockers alike. Take a look over these tips to make sure you have the best Rock Fest ever!

Plan Ahead

Don’t miss your favorite acts! Plan ahead to make sure you are around when your favorite bands are playing. Don’t overdo the drinking in the morning and end up missing the best acts. Pace yourself and you’ll be able to rock all night.

Go With the Right People

Pick your crew wisely. Take people who are going to look out for you, keep you safe, and have a good time. Your high school friend Brad may be a fun friend at home, but if he ends up getting feisty after a couple of drinks, he might not be the best person to bring along. Don’t end up babysitting while your favorite musician performs; choose your group thoughtfully.

Get the App

The Rock Fest App is the best way to stay informed. You can see the schedule, access a map of the grounds, activate your wristband, find resources like the security tip line and Rodell Tow and Recovery, helping with all your car needs. Available on iOS and Android!

Stay Hydrated

Hydration, hydration, hydration! Drink water between drinks to stay hydrated throughout the festival, and in the process, ease the hangover tomorrow. Dehydrated festival goers are going to end up having a rough time, so don’t be one of them! Bring a refillable water bottle to use at the refill stations. Wisconsin can be hot (and humid!) so it’s important to drink plenty of water while you’re outside, potentially drinking dehydrating drinks, and sweating. Consider electrolytes as well – sweat means you’re losing electrolytes, so grab a sports drink every couple of rounds.

Bring the Essentials

Whether you’re camping or not, there are a few things you’ll want to have on hand. You might want sunscreen, because the Wisconsin sun is no joke. Slather on some SPF and avoid burning to a crisp your first day. Bring some hearing protection if you want to keep your ears from ringing. You might also want some wipes in case Brad spills his drink on you – we told you not to bring him!

Dress Wisely

Dress for the weather – wear breathable clothes. This year Rock Fest is looking to be a hot and mostly sunny. You might want a hat, but consider other people’s views and don’t go all out on a giant hat. Wear good shoes and bring clean socks. Check the weather as it gets closer and you’ll be sure to have a blast!

Know Where to Go

If you’re looking for Rock Fest merch, it’s at the top of the hill next to the info booth. Check out the medical tent there too if you need anything. Down to the right of the main stage is artist merchandise and Radio Row – pay 92.9 the X a visit while you’re over there! Artist merch is only available the day of each artist’s performance, and side stage bands typically have their merch by the stage they’re performing at. There’s South and North convenience stores on each of the campgrounds, in case you’re forgetting something.

Shower At an Odd Time

Showering in the morning is a recipe for a long line and a cold shower. Showers are free, but pick a time when the line will be shorter. Showers are open 24 hours.

Rock On!

Have a blast at Rock Fest! There’s no better way to celebrate your love of rock music than to party it up with friends. Be safe, have fun, and rock on!
