PB&J Day at Hy-Vee is going to not only raise money and collect school supplies for Back 2 School Bucks, but we can also donate peanut butter and jelly to Feed My People Food Bank. Buy some peanut butter and jelly and let them know you’d like to donate it to Feed My People. Hy-Vee will match up to 200 PB&Js and donate those as well, so it’s a great opportunity to do some good while getting groceries!

Sponsors

This year’s drive is sponsored once again by Signature Sponsor TDS Fiber and High Speed Internet, Vehicle Sponsor Morrie’s Auto Group, and Presenting Sponsor Amundson’s Appliance of Eau Claire, Chippewa Falls, Rice Lake and Hayward, Participating sponsors of the event are: The Good Feet Store, Otto Family Law, Security Financial Bank, Rocky Rococo Pizza and Pasta, M3 Insurance, and Sevita Health.

This year’s event again features a fundraising campaign from Amundson’s Appliance – $10 from each appliance sold at the 4 stores in August will be donated directly to Back to School Bucks and Books. The funding will go to benefit children in several area school districts including Chippewa Falls, Cadott, Cameron, and Cumberland. Last year’s efforts from Amundson’s alone raised thousands of dollars to help kids with school supplies, tech needs and helping to feed hungry children. A generous financial donation will be provided by Morrie’s Auto Group as well.

Where to Donate

Donations of school supplies, cash, and checks will be accepted at area donation locations (Morrie’s, Amundson’s, The Good Feet Store, Otto Family Law, Security Financial Bank) through September 3rd and will be distributed to kids in need through area school districts along with the support of non profit partners: Boys and Girls Club of the Greater Chippewa Valley, Feed My People, United Way of the Greater Chippewa Valley, and Literacy Chippewa Valley.

Since books were added to the annual donation drive about a decade ago, more than 5,000 books for children from preschool to high school have been donated by generous listeners over the years.

Rough estimates of other donated items include: more than 30,000 pencils, markers, and pens, 5,000 boxes of crayons, and at least 1,500 glue sticks, along with lots of other school supplies.

Thanks to the Eau Claire Cavaliers for a special Back 2 School Bucks and Books fundraising night in early August that captured hundreds of dollars in school supplies for the cause.

A huge shout out to our incredible sponsors and YOU for all your help to make this school year great for every kid in our area!
