Why Bedrooms Are the Most Important Room

When we are thinking about decorating our homes the aesthetic of our public living spaces seem to be the most important. After all, it's what people see when they come over. I'm here to tell you that's not true. In fact, I strongly believe our bedrooms are the most important rooms in our homes. This is true for both children and adults.

Adult Bedrooms

Remember being a kid and decorating your room. It was your space to do whatever you wanted to. You could hang up as many posters as you wanted and be exactly who you wanted to be in that space. Sometimes I think we forget how important our sleeping space is as adults. When you have a family your bedroom is the one room in the home that is yours. Everything else is a shared living space. Kids throw toys around the living room and make messes in the kitchen but your bedroom will always be for you. It's where you get your rest. It's where you lay down after a long day. Make your space a place you enjoy being.

Kids Bedrooms

Treat your kids bedrooms like their own home. It's a space for them to be themselves and express their creative freedom. It can allow them to have control over their environment. As they grow, their bedroom will grow with them. Their decor will change. They'll grow out of old things and into new things. It can teach them about responsibility by allowing them to have an area in the home to take care of. No matter what their age, a child's bedroom plays a significant role in housing their imagination, independence and creativity.
