Litchi Slush/Madden Ramen

I have had a lot of fruit in my life; lingonberries in Norwegian-American contexts, and huckleberry-everything on a drive I made to Washington state, stand out. I do not believe I had ever had litchi fruit (you may also know it as lychee fruit), at least until I decided to peruse the sweets options at Madden Ramen. A litchi slush? Let’s add to the fruit list.

A sea of slush.

The assorted slush’s on the menu are, basically, slushies: fruit-flavored crushed ice drinks with larger ice cubes to keep everything cold. Of course, you get the big boba tea-style straws and plastic covers to pierce, one of the fun things to do with a drink.

The straw burrows into the slush.

The litchi/lychee fruit is often found in southeast Asia; it has a classically sweet taste. On the fairly warm September afternoon that I stopped by Madden, this was a perfect drink to sip while walking around outside. I gave a little to my daughter, and she drank the water/Litchi Slush drink I created.

You’ll find other fruit slush’s on the Madden Ramen menu (incredibly, I have not yet had the main course, and that soon needs to change). You may also find residual salt from the shaker my daughter found as my drink was being prepared. You definitely will enjoy a new fruit if you have never experienced the world of litchi.
