Movies to Get in the Halloween Spirit

One of my favorite things about this time of year is getting to show my son the movies I loved when I was his age. I remember waiting to watch all the spooky movies that would come out on Disney Channel. Let's step back in time and relive our childhoods. And let's be real, I just want to know if you guys remember some of of these films that had me in a choke hold as a child.

Hocus Pocus

This one in obvious. If you haven't seen this are you living under a rock? But this is a must watch every Halloween in our household. You might have fun trying to dodge the "what's a virgin" question, but this is a classic every child deserves to experience.

Don't Look Under the Bed

Who remembers watching this when they were younger? This movie terrified me as a child. A Disney movie about the boogeyman?! The boogeyman was super creepy looking too. It's got imaginary friends, scary monsters and a very happy ending.

Under Wraps

In this Disney Halloween classic three children discover a mummy and accidentally revive him. He must be returned to his resting place by midnight on Halloween or he will never find his long lost love.

Halloweentown

In this beloved film a young girl discovers she comes from a family of witches and follows her grandma home to Halloweentown; a place where supernatural beings can live in peace. There she must fight evil forces that are threatening to take over their beloved home. This movie is a blast for kids of all ages. It's not too scary and has so much of the Halloween charm we crave this time of year.

Casper

Who doesn't love a movie about a friendly ghost falling in love and his trouble making uncles? I remember watching this on repeat when I was a kid.

The Addams Family

I was so excited to show Trent this film, especially with the show Wednesday being such a hit. It's spooky, weird and kooky fun for the entire family.

I hope you find joy in showing your kids the movies you loved as a child. I know I look forward to it every year.

Happy spooky season,

<3 Bri
