Legends of the 715: Ben Retzlaff
It’s March Madness time! That time of year where we fill out brackets and take time off to watch basketball all day.
To get ready for March Madness, here’s a little insight on a local connection to one of the 68 men’s basketball teams competing the the NCAA Tournament. And we stay in state for this as well.
Ben Retzlaff, who is the Digital Graphics Coordinator for the Marquette men’s basketball team, is a Chippewa Falls native and former player for the UW-Eau Claire Blugolds basketball team.
Ben’s role with Marquette, according to his bio on their website, states:
“With the Golden Eagles, Retzlaff serves as a creative resource for the program in a variety of areas, while focusing on communicating and executing Shaka Smart’s culture in a digital way. Duties include creating graphics for recruiting, internal messaging, and social media, and acting as a liaison for men’s basketball with the marketing and communication departments.”
Before heading to Marquette, Retzlaff was with Louisiana Tech for a year as the Director-Creative Branding for their men’s basketball program.
Retlzaff’s playing career included a stop at St. Norbert for the 2016-2017 season before transferring to UW-Eau Claire, where he was a student assistant coach for three seasons.
He helped lead McDonell Central High School to the 2016 WIAA Division 5 State Championship in 2016.
