Legends of the 715: Tim Krumrie

It’s draft week in the NFL! To honor one of the best times in the sports calendar, let’s honor one of the most popular and best athletes to come from the 715: Tim Krumrie.

Krumrie was born in Menomonie, Wisconsin and graduated from Mondovi high school and after high school went on to play football for the Wisconsin Badgers. After his collegiate career, he was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 10th round of the 1983 NFL Draft.

He finished his NFL career with two Pro Bowl appearances (1987 and 1988), a First-Team All-Pro selection in 1988, and a Second-Team All-Pro in 1987. He finished his career with 1,018 tackles, 34.5 sacks, and 13 fumble recoveries. He also played in Super Bowl XXIII, where he severely broke his leg when he went to make a tackle on Roger Craig.

After his playing career, he was a defensive line coach for the Bengals (1995-2002), Buffalo Bills (2003-2005), and the Kansas City Chiefs until 2010.

Krumrie was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2016.
