TikTok has once again set the beauty world on fire this year, introducing a slew of new products and trends that promise to revolutionize our routines. Here's my honest take on the most talked-about beauty items of 2024:
- Medicube Peel-Off Mask: A Skin Savior?
This mask is all over my FYP, with creators peeling it off to reveal poreless, glass-like skin. Medicube's peel-off mask promises to exfoliate, brighten, and leave your skin ultra-smooth, and I have to say-it delivers! After just one use, my skin felt tighter and more hydrated. Do I love the "peel off" system? No, lol. The price is a bit steep, but they run a ton of sales on Tiktok shop, so keep your eyes peeled. If you're on a budget, keep an eye out for dupe brands like Minimalist, which often deliver similar results at a fraction of the cost.
- Purely White Deluxe Teeth Whitening Kit: Bright Smiles Ahead
Teeth whitening kits are nothing new, but this one caught my eye for its sleek design and claims of sensitivity-free results. My teeth are SENSITIVE so I truly have to be careful with the types of whiting systems I use. The kit includes a blue LED light and whitening gel that are gentle on enamel but tough on stains.
After two weeks, I was pleasantly surprised-my teeth were noticeably whiter, and I didn't experience the dreaded zings of pain. If Purely White is out of your budget, there are affordable dupes in the market, though they might take longer to show results.
3.The Mouth Tape Trend: Sleep Hack or Hype?
Mouth taping might sound bizarre, but it's quickly becoming the go-to sleep hack for beauty enthusiasts. By taping your mouth shut at night, you're encouraged to breathe through your nose, which is said to improve sleep quality, reduce snoring, and even prevent dry mouth.
I was skeptical but decided to give it a shot-and I THINK i love it. After a few nights, I woke up feeling more rested, and my lips were less chapped. Just make sure to use medical-grade tape designed for this purpose, not Skotch tape, like Garrett from Love is Blind is using.Ew.
4. Three Light Therapy & Vibrating Face Massager
At first look this is an at home beauty product I could get behind… IF I'm consistent with it. To be honest, when I first got this product, it broke immediately. I emailed the company and got a replacement but overall, a very cheaply made product, so, I wouldn't have super high expectations for results. With any sort or face massage or lymphatic drainage, consistency is KEY. You must do these face massages DAILY to see any results. So, this isn't something I think a lot of people would enjoy because if you're like me, we are too busy to have a consistent daily routine that includes a face massage. I WISH! However, if you are dedicated to a selfcare routine, this product can definitely help sculpt your face.
Dupe Brands Like Minimalist: The Beauty Industry's MVPs
No discussion about viral beauty products is complete without mentioning dupe brands like Minimalist. Known as the "The Ordinary" of this generation, Minimalist recreates high-quality formulas at wallet-friendly prices. While they lack the flashy packaging, their no-nonsense approach to skincare makes them a favorite for beauty enthusiasts who want results without breaking the bank.
