Farmer Appreciation Event

October 12 @ 11:30 am - 2:00 pm

Free

A special day dedicated to honoring our local farmers, filled with community spirit, education, and celebration. On October 12, 2024, starting at 11:30 AM, MCW Central Wisconsin Psychiatry Program will host an engaging event at The Milk Haus Miltrim Farms, located at 115315 W Townline Road, Athens, WI 54411, featuring a farm tour, a cutting-edge drone demonstration, a complimentary lunch, and an inspiring talk by Jeff “Ditz” Ditzenberger.

The event aims to bring together community farmers to raise awareness about mental health, provide opportunities for connection and sharing, enjoy a great meal, and learn about wellness in farming. Ben Diedrich, event organizer, reflects, “Growing up on a dairy farm instilled in me the strong morals and values I still hold today. I wanted to raise awareness about a challenging issue that deeply affects farmers, their families, and communities.” The event will feature Jeff “Ditz” Ditzenberger, a respected member of the agricultural community, Navy Veteran, and former corn and soybean farmer. Jeff will discuss personal wellness and the importance of mental health among farmers. As the founder of Talking, Understanding, Growing, Supporting (T.U.G.S.), Jeff has been a driving force in promoting mental wellness and peer support within the agricultural sector. This event would not be possible without the generous support of our contributors: Miltrim Farms, MM Ag Drone Services, Weston Psychiatric, WiNC GME Consortium, and MCW Central Wisconsin Psychiatry Program. Their commitment to our farming community and mental wellness is invaluable. Don’t miss this chance to connect with fellow farmers, gain valuable insights, and celebrate our vibrant farming community. To register for this event click here
